Harvard federal funding set to resume after judge’s ruling
Federal agencies have begun to inform Harvard that it is in the process of restoring at least some of its previously canceled research funding.
The notices come a week after a federal judge in Boston said the Trump administration illegally canceled nearly $3 billion in Harvard’s research funding, calling the government’s efforts to curb antisemitism on college campuses a “smokescreen” for attacks on Harvard and other universities.
“Harvard has begun to receive notices of reinstatements on many of the previously terminated federal awards from a range of federal agencies,” a Harvard spokesperson said. “So far, payments have not been restored on these awards.”
